How do you keep yourself motivated and your photography fresh?

I keep shooting! Haha... For me, keeping motivated has never been an issue. I have a need to express the way I see the world, be it poetry, painting, drawing or photography. As for keeping it fresh, I do my best to learn from as many people as I can. If I can stay teachable in my craft, then it keeps me open to other styles of shooting and pretty fluid in my approach.

How would you describe your style?

Well I suppose my style has been influenced a lot by Norman. I try to stick with a bit of an old school approach. I love natural light and hope to keep my style evolving.

Do you make time for personal photographic work? If so, what do you enjoy photographing?

Yes, I love picking a random person I meet at the market, or on the street, and asking if I can photograph them. If they are open to it, my wife and I come up with a concept and have fun with it. When I was documenting my tribe, one of the tribal members hand sewed a 10'x10' light diffuser... LOVE IT! With only a couple of reflectors, it's amazing what you can come up with.

Who or what inspires you in your personal life and work?

Personal Life; my kids, my wife and people who can take a risk to pursue something they are passionate about.

Work; Artists who remind me that the more we learn, the less we know.
